Terms of use
Who we are, and what this is
Scanomatic (the "app") is published by Propoa Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202635624D), a company incorporated in Singapore ("we"). These terms apply when you install or use the app. If you got the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where the two differ on a point Apple's terms govern, Apple's terms apply. If you got it from Google Play, Google Play's terms of service apply alongside these.
Questions about these terms: support@propoagroup.co.
Your licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, through the store account you obtained it with. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent or reverse-engineer the app, or bypass its purchase checks, except where the law allows despite this clause.
Free and Pro
The app is free to use for scanning, image PDF and image export, print, annotation, redaction, merge and split, the library, search, the app lock, and one connected cloud account. Free exports carry no watermark.
Pro unlocks the features marked Pro in the app: searchable and password-protected PDF, Word, Excel and CSV export, ID card and book scanning modes, erasing marks, automatic masking of sensitive numbers, private folders, translation, receipt and identity details, automatic upload, and additional cloud accounts. What Pro includes may change over time; anything removed from Pro becomes free rather than being taken away.
Subscriptions and purchases
Pro is sold through the App Store or Google Play as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app and in the store in your local currency before you buy.
- Billing. Payment is charged to your store account by Apple or Google when you confirm the purchase.
- Renewal. Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can cancel at any time in your store account's subscription settings; the app links to that page from Settings and from the Pro screen. Cancelling stops future renewals and keeps Pro until the end of the period already paid for.
- Free trial. Where the store offers one, a subscription may begin with a free trial of the length stated on the purchase screen. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and the first period is charged. The store decides whether you are eligible for a trial; the app shows what the store offers.
- Lifetime. The lifetime purchase is a single payment that unlocks Pro on the store account that bought it, for as long as the app is available. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
- Restoring. Pro is tied to your store account. Reinstalling, or installing on another device signed in to the same store account, restores it; the app also offers Restore purchases.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their policies, since they take the payment. We cannot issue refunds for store purchases ourselves. If a store refunds a purchase, Pro ends.
- Price changes. If a subscription price rises, the store notifies you in advance under its rules, and the new price applies only from the next renewal after you have been told.
Your documents
Everything you scan stays on your phone unless you send it somewhere. You own your documents, and you are responsible for them: for having the right to scan, store and share them, especially where they carry other people's personal data or identity documents, and for complying with the laws that apply to you.
Accuracy
The app reads text, identity fields, receipt fields and codes using on-device recognition, and translates using on-device language models. These are good but not perfect. Recognised text may contain errors, translations may be imprecise, and the check-digit result shown for a passport or ID card confirms only that the machine-readable text is internally consistent, not that the document is genuine or valid. Verify anything that matters against the original before relying on it.
Third-party services
Cloud storage you connect, and any app you share, print or open a link with, are provided by others under their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability, their handling of your data, or changes they make.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data that you did not back up or export. Our total liability to you for anything arising from the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you.
Ending things
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it; an active subscription continues until you cancel it in your store account. We may end your licence if you materially breach these terms. We may also withdraw the app from the stores or stop supporting it; if we do, the lifetime purchase remains valid for as long as the app can be installed.
Changes to the app and to these terms
We may change the app, and we may change these terms. When the terms change substantively, the effective date and version above change, and the store listing links to the current text. Continuing to use the app after a change means the current terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the consumer law of the country you live in gives you rights that cannot be taken away.
