Referral programme terms

Refer a fellow agent - you both get $49 credit once they've been subscribed for 60 days.

How it works

  • Every verified agent has a personal referral code, shown on the Referrals screen.
  • A new agent enters your code while submitting their own CEA registration for verification. They must do so within 30 days of creating their account.
  • The referral is confirmed once an admin approves that agent's CEA registration - we credit real, licensed agents, not signups.
  • It converts when they start a paid subscription. At that point you earn $49 in account credit and they earn $49.
  • Some codes belong to approved affiliates (creators and trainers on the affiliate programme). If you entered one of those and subscribe to Pro on the monthly plan, you get half price on your first month at checkout instead of the referee credit. The affiliate earns commission rather than credit. On any other plan, the credit above applies as usual.

When credit becomes spendable

  • Credit is held for 60 days after the referred agent's subscription starts, and becomes spendable only if that subscription is still active and paid at the end of it.
  • If the referred agent cancels, lapses, refunds or charges back during that period, the held credit on both sides is cancelled.
  • Once vested, credit is recorded against your account and goes towards your subscription. It never expires while your account is open.
  • Credit is a balance, not a voucher for one bill. It comes off your next invoice, and whatever is left over stays on your account for the invoice after that. Nothing is lost by being worth more than a single bill.
  • If you pay annually, your credit comes off your renewal, since that's your next invoice. It is applied in full against that larger amount rather than being capped at a month's worth.
  • Credit is a fixed amount of money, so it's worth the same whether you pay monthly or annually - it is not 'one free month', which would be worth different amounts on different billing cycles.
  • Credit has no cash value, can't be transferred to another account, and isn't refundable or payable out - including when an account closes.

Limits

  • A maximum of 25 referrals earn a reward per rolling 12 months, per account. Referrals past that limit are still recorded and shown to you, but don't earn credit.
  • Credit is a fixed amount, not a free month of whatever plan you're on. It's worth the same whichever plan you or the agent you referred are subscribed to.
  • Each CEA registration number can be referred once, ever - including across multiple accounts held by the same licensed agent.
  • A code can only be used on a genuinely new account. Codes can't be used on your own second account, and referrals that form a loop (you refer someone who directly or indirectly referred you) don't earn credit on either side.

What disqualifies a referral

  • Entering a code on an account that the code's owner controls, or that already had a referrer.
  • Circular or reciprocal referrals between accounts, including longer chains that loop back.
  • Claiming a referral for an agent who reached us another way - for example one who had already signed up before hearing about your code.
  • Paid advertising that bids on our brand name, unsolicited bulk messaging, or posting your code anywhere it reads as an official offer from us.
  • Creating or arranging accounts principally to generate credit rather than to use the product.

Changes and disputes

  • A referral is always settled under the terms published on the day the code was entered, even if the programme changes afterwards.
  • We can change or end the programme at any time. Credit you've already earned under earlier terms is honoured.
  • We can withhold or reverse credit where a referral appears to breach these terms, and will tell you the reason on your Referrals screen.
  • This programme is between agents and Propoa for use of this software. It is not a referral fee for any property transaction, and nothing here should be shared with a client as though it were.

Common questions

Can I share my code with my team, my downlines or the agents I train? Does my agency mind?

Yes. The reward is account credit against your own Propoa subscription, so this is not a side business, not income and not estate agency work, and nothing under the Estate Agents Act or the CEA Code of Ethics stands in the way. It is also not connected to any property transaction, so there is nothing to disclose to a client, and it should never be mentioned to one as though it were a referral fee.

Your agency's own rules on what you may promote to colleagues still apply, so use your judgement about where and how you share it. Do not use your agency's name or logo, and never suggest the agency endorses Propoa. If you lead a team, tell your downlines plainly that you get credit when they use your code, and never make using it a condition of joining, staying or being trained.

What do we each get, and when?

$49 of credit for you and $49 for the agent you referred, once they have held a paid subscription for 60 days. The wait is there so that a subscription which is cancelled, refunded or charged back in its first weeks does not leave credit behind; if that happens, the held credit on both sides is cancelled.

Once vested, the credit is a balance on your account. It comes off your next invoice, whatever is left carries to the one after, and it never expires while your account is open. If you pay annually it comes off your renewal in full.

Codes that belong to approved affiliates work slightly differently for the agent using them: on Pro monthly they get half price on their first month at checkout instead of the credit. On any other plan the credit above applies as usual.

Can I cash the credit out, or move it to another account?

No. Credit has no cash value, cannot be transferred, and is not paid out, including when an account closes. It exists to reduce what you pay for Propoa. If you introduce agents at volume and want to be paid in money, that is what the affiliate programme is for, and it replaces credit with commission for approved creators and trainers.

Why did one of my referrals earn nothing?

The Referrals screen shows the reason next to each one. The usual ones: the agent entered your code more than 30 days after creating their account, so something else brought them to us; their CEA registration was not approved; their registration number had already been referred by someone, since each one can be referred once ever; the referral formed a loop back to you; or you had already earned the maximum 25 rewards in the previous 12 months.

A referral that has been recorded but not yet converted is not disqualified. It is waiting for the agent to start a paid subscription, and then for the hold to pass.

Which is better for me, referral credit or the affiliate programme?

For most agents, credit. It needs no application, applies to everyone, and a handful of referrals a year covers a good part of your subscription. The affiliate programme is for creators, trainers and coaches whose audience is other agents and who introduce them at volume; it pays a share of what those agents pay, in cash, for a fixed period, and comes with an agreement on disclosure and conduct. It replaces the referrer credit rather than adding to it, and we approve applications case by case.

Version 1. Referrals are settled under the terms published on the day the code was entered.

Creators and trainers who introduce agents at volume can apply to the affiliate programme, which pays commission instead of credit.
